Day 1: Toronto - East Stoney Creek, ON
As I pedaled away from Robina, my home street, followed by a group loved ones who escorted me safely way across town to the lake shore: Lu, Annie, Emmanuel, Myra, Luiza and Mike, your presence was very important to me, as it showed support for the first few kilometers of my journey. Also on Sunday night my brother had organized a music jam for family and friends (Zak, Bill and and Peirs thanks for your presence), I'm sure that this would be one of the major things I'll miss the most, beside the people.
Everything together started to kick in that I was not coming home any time soon, with that followed a rush of bubbling emotion on my stomach that will someday be my tear of "saudade" (longing).
Mike took a little video of me describing the bike trip. here it is:
I had a good afternoon of cycling from 2pm till 6:30, when I was just exiting the far east end of Stoney Creek. I decided to pull into a side street and found a wonderful patch of grass in front of a beach of lake Ontario. The sound of the waves was enchanting and that is where I when to sleep.
This morning I was invited by my neighbours, to have break fast and take a shower. Here I am using their internet to give you this update. Thank you John, Carm, Steph, Kim and Dee for your hospitality!
I'm hoping to my it into the states later today so I better hits the road... thanks for reading
